Sunny Afternoon ~ The Kinks
I uttered the word ‘louche’ a few postups ago…and this exactly the mood this classic by The Kinks sets! Lazy — read lucky — English sods. This loping ode to sloth, and a rather indolent life still lulls the writer happily into rather soporific and daydreamy state quicker than any rock song ever written. So forgive the writer for not finding a suitable Jazz pick for the day but this part of my ongoing research for our Ultimate Sumer Tunes Playlist for the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner. Cautionary note: I MIGHT have posted this one before but I cannot find this in my cerebral cortex at this mo so…..it’s all good
Lo ve this tune and reminds of the summer that Amea and I spent on the Baja coast….merci beaucoup to milessmiles on our Rebloggin’ Sunday!

Everywhere ~ Marcia Griffiths
A tune from the 80’s so beware of heavy doses of synth and clipped sax solos…but still Marcia holds it all together with a great bit of laid back vocal and turns this into a sparkling little cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere. I heard it again recently at an amigos wedding reception and though it rather apt and so I danced…till the champagne was uncorked — I do have my priorities right! Hope you enjoy the Reggae tinged Saturday Got Soul selection from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner.
It’s Lant Street and not far from the Flimwell Papers’ World Headquarters high atop the Waterloo Wine Building. Good old “Saff” London!
