“Needles and Pins….” —…oh how I’m hating the new needingly pin hunger feature of Tumblr…..sounds like a Pinterest prog…..sigh!  But it’s helping to identify the porn spammeisters and needy weepers very quickly….

Emotional Rescue The Rolling Stones

Emotional Rescue ~ The Rolling Stones

Admittedly not their best side, but certainly not their worst… definitely Mick at is leeringly good wink best and  rest of The Stones at their cheesey best here and we love it….and sending out for all who need rescue this weekend!  From the sticky note stuck to the back of this Lp I haven’t listened to this track since 1984  —- now that’s probably a good reason to say it’s “new” for All Things New Fridays here at the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner!  Peace to y’all and happy landings…stay safe now!

Shakin' All Over The Guess Who

Shakin’ All Over ~ The Guess Who

Pre-Burton Cummings Guess Who this is and perhaps the damn best Canadian Garage Rock’n’Roll track ever!  Chad Allen on vocals here and I remember buying this 45’ thinking “wow” these guys can’t be any good they’re us, they’re Canadian…..but even Johnny Kidd’s own version of his song pales in comparison to this Guess Who version, nothing comes close to the feeling of this version, all other versions sound like Perry Como at his lethargic “best”!  So Tuesday is Canada In Music selections from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner, peace y’all and happy dreams.

Tomorrow Is a Long Time Bob Dylan

Tomorrow Is A Long Time ~ Bob Dylan

This take of ‘Tomorrow Is A Long Time’ from the Bootleg Series….and we loved it then and we love it now…we being the Darlin’ Nicci and I!  It fits as a blue’ish mood for the Monday Got The Blues selection from The Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner!  Thank the Lawd for His Bobness!

Snatching It Back Clarence Carter

Snatching It Back ~ Clarence Carter

Clarence is an old amigo of this editor-at-large for the Flimwell Paper!  It was his work in Southern Soul that intro’d me to my darlin’ Nicci —- another long story that will be best told over some sippin’ whiskey — and this one is super favourite of ours.  It fits the brief Saturday Got Soul to a tee, if you will, from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner!  Peace y’all and happy times this weekend…stay safe now kids.
