Spanish Harlem ~ Aretha Franklin 

This song pick is purely self interest.  I first heard this tune when I was in New York in the late summer of ‘67.  I guess this is why I will always think of this as a “summer” tune!  

Aretha takes her vocals to the edge, earthy but powerful, pyrotechnics to make any kid on idol shows just pack it in, all that and she still keeps the story true.  Queen for sure for work like this.  Thus it’s a soulful pick for the Summer Tunes Playlist from the Flimwell Papers Music Corner.  Cheers now…
